Two of the biggest figures in the MAGA and QAnon worlds are involved in an increasingly bitter fight over who is the bigger supporter of Kyle Rittenhouse, the 18-year-old accused of fatally shooting two people at a Black Lives Matter protest in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
And the spat is splitting their supporters down the middle.
A simmering feud between pro-Trump attorney Lin Wood and Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene spilled over into all-out acrimony over the weekend after Wood accused Greene of failing to do enough to “fix election 2020.”
For weeks, Wood, who has over 800,000 followers on his Telegram channel, has been complaining about what he perceives as Greene’s lack of effort to force a forensic audit in Georgia similar to the one that has just concluded in Arizona.
On Friday, things escalated when Wood called Greene a “communist”:
"In my opinion, Marjorie Taylor Greene is a communist. If Marjorie Taylor Greene is running around saying 'Impeach Biden,' that says that Biden won—he didn't," Wood wrote on his Telegram channel, boosting the conspiracy once again that Trump won the election.
Greene, who has until now ignored Wood’s attacks. responded on her Twitter account by referencing allegations by Rittenhouse’s mother that Wood had stolen money from a fundraising campaign designed to fund the 18-year-old’s defense.
“He lifts up his Bible high and lies and lies,” Greene tweeted, referring to Wood constantly referencing his faith. “He’s not one of us.”
Rittenhouse is scheduled to stand trial on Nov. 1. In recent weeks Greene has taken up the cause by promoting an alternative fundraising effort.
In attacking Wood, Greene said: ”Only monsters hurt innocent people in their greatest time of need.”
Greene then took things a step further and insinuated that Wood was in some way working with the Jan. 6 committee based on the fact that they don’t seem to be seeking evidence from him.
Wood spent the weekend hitting back at Greene on his Telegram channel but also said he had forgiven the lawmaker and was praying for her.
Greene responded on her own Telegram channel: “Don’t pray for me Lin Wood. We don’t serve the same God because it’s clear you’re serving the father of lies.”
Unsurprisingly, other influential figures in the QAnon and MAGA worlds began to weigh in on the very public fight.
Wendy Rogers, an Arizona State Senator, who was one of the biggest cheerleaders for the bogus recount that took place in Maricopa County over the last six months, came out in support of Wood.
Even Greene’s own supporters on Instagram were divided over her criticism of Wood who they call a “man of God” and a “truth-teller”:
Over on Telegram, John Sabal, the organizer of a major QAnon conference and who is known as QAnon John, said the major spat was something that has been coming for a long time.
“I have seen this coming from a mile away now. It makes me sad to admit, but there is definitely a MASSIVE divide taking place within our movement,” Sabal wrote “That’s the LAST thing we need right now, but unfortunately, some have made choices that are not too bright or are being purposefully controlled to cause damage.”
Another QAnon influencer, Jordan Sather, was also drawn into the spat when Lin Wood told his followers that Sather was not to be trusted.
“The Mockingbird propaganda has many species of birds,” Wood said, referencing Operation Mockingbird, an alleged CIA campaign to influence media output during the Cold War. “Try to be an informed bird watcher. I have discerned that Jordan Sather is someone I would NOT recommend you follow.”
Sather, who makes money by selling supplements to his followers and has in the past urged people to drink bleach to protect themselves from COVID-19, used the attack as an opportunity to spread even more conspiracies, claiming it was all part of some covert operation.
“I can tell there's a huge COINTELPRO network infiltrating the Patriot/MAGA/Q movement,” Sather said without evidence. “Might be the CIA's work, might be Mossad.”
