The Washington Post’s article " Obama has strategy for Syria, but it faces major obstacles ," would blatantly report that: They [the US] will increase air operations in northern Syria, particularly in the Turkish border area to cut the flow of foreign fighters, money and materiel coming in to support the Islamic State.
It was a link to an article published just ahead of the incident titled, " US air force Gen Selva visits Ankara to discuss terror, Syria ," which stated specifically (emphasis added): Vice Chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Paul J.
The Guardian reports, John McCain and Lindsey Graham call for 20,000 troops in Syria and Iraq . Two senior senators called on Sunday for Washington to nearly triple military force levels in Iraq to 10,000 and send an equal number of troops to Syria as part of a multinational ground force to counter Islamic State in both countries. McCain, chairman of the Senate armed services committee, recently proposed intervention in Syria by a European and Arab ground force backed by 10,000 US military advisers and trainers.
The Turkish-based newspaper Daily Sabah reported in its article, " Russian airstrikes target aid convoy in northwestern Syrian town of Azaz, 7 killed ," claims: At least seven people died, 10 got injured after an apparent airstrike, reportedly by Russian jets, targeted an aid convoy in northwestern Syrian town of Azaz near a border crossing with Turkey on Wednesday. Daily Sabah also reported: Speaking to Daily Sabah, Serkan Nergis from the Humanitarian Relief Foundation (IHH) said that the targeted area is located some 5 kilometers southwest of the Öncüpınar Border Crossing. Nergis said that IHH has a civil defense unit in Azaz and they helped locals to extinguish the trucks. Trucks were probably carrying aid supplies or commercial materials, Nergis added.
