Thailand: New York Times Defends Terrorist Regime & Sham Elections

By News Desk

February 2, 2014  ( ATN ) – In Thomas Fuller’s New York Times piece titled, " Gun Battle in Bangkok Escalates Election Protest ," he claims:  At least six people were injured Saturday in a prolonged daylight gun battle between protesters seeking to block the distribution of ballots in Bangkok and would-be voters demanding that protesters cease their attempts to obstruct national elections on Sunday.  After three months of a provocative campaign by protesters to overthrow the government of Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra, the clash on Saturday appeared to crystallize the power struggle that has been playing out on the streets of Bangkok.  Ignoring pleas by the United States and the European Union to respect the democratic process — and stoking the anger of many Thais eager to vote — the protesters have blocked the distribution of ballots in parts of Bangkok and southern Thailand, a stronghold of the opposition. Fuller would go on to repeat many  other tired distortions and intentional omissions  regarding the ongoing Thai political crisis, never mentioning the 3 main facts that have truly led to it. 1.Both the Regime and Elections are Illegitimate : Featuring only one main party with opposition parties boycotting it, and carried out under an  open campaign of terror  aimed at regime opponents as well  as under a "state of emergency " granting the regime authoritarian powers in and around the capital of Bangkok – the elections could not be any further from "the democracy process" even if they were unfolding in  Saddam’s Iraq , or  Kim Jong Ill’s North Korea .  The fact that Thaksin Shinawatra, an accused mass murderer, a convicted criminal, and a fugitive hiding abroad, is openly running the current ruling party ( according to Fuller himself ) ram-rodding through these elections alone makes both them and the regime itself illegal and illegitimate.

Thailand: Regime Cites Own Terror Campaign as Pretext for "Emergency Decree"

By News Desk

Just the day before the first deadly grenade attack, TIME Magazine would report in its article, " Bangkok Shutdown: Yingluck Supporters Prepare to Fight for Democracy ," that:  As Thailand’s anti-government protests enter their fourth day, observers say prospects for violent confrontation are increasing,  with reports of government supporters stockpiling weapons in case of Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra’s ouster.  According to the Bangkok Post, radical members of the Red Shirts — diehard champions of Yingluck and her notorious brother Thaksin Shinawatra —  are readying a cache of arms  in case the 46-year-old premier is forced from office by either military or judicial intervention.  The paper quoted a Red Shirt source as saying  “There are strong anti-coup and anti-court sentiments among the red-shirt mavericks who are familiar and experienced with weapon use.†Police loyal to the regime have also made overt threats,  claiming they were preparing an armed campaign against protesters  if elections were delayed in a systematic pattern of violence that have become the notorious hallmarks of Thaksin Shianwatra’s regime – leaving no doubt as to who is behind recent attacks.  Astonishingly, after conducting a concerted campaign of terror against Occupy Bangkok protesters, the regime is now issuing an "emergency decree" prohibiting gatherings and inviting in draconian tactics to deal with those who defy the decree. Thailand’s English paper The Nation would report in their article, " State of emergency announced ," that: The caretaker Cabinet announced the state of emergency for Bangkok and some parts of nearby provinces, which will last 60 days.  The state of emergency was announced on TV by caretaker Deputy Prime Minister Chalerm Yoobamrung

By News Desk

Links Thailand: Army to Regime – You Will Be Held Accountable for Violence January 7, 2014  ( ATN ) – Thai Royal Army Commander-in-Chief Gen Prayuth Chan-ocha has issued a stern and clear warning to the regime that it will be held responsible if any violence breaks out. Thai PBS reported in their article, " Army chief to hold government responsible if violence breaks out ," that: "Army commander-in-chief Gen Prayuth Chan-ocha said the government must be held responsible if the protest escalated to violence similar to the 2010 riot.   The army chief did not rule the possibility of a military coup when asked about the current coup rumor after unusual movement of a large number of troops and their armory in the capital." While the regime and its Western backers claim this is an unwarranted threat made by a rogue military, the warning comes after the regime of Thaksin Shinawatra  and his nepotist-appointed proxy, sister Yingluck Shianwatra , deployed black-clad gunmen twice ( here  and  here ), resulting in multiple deaths, as well as unleashing its " red shirt" enforcers to confront political opponents with violence and intimidation  almost daily
